Mental Reconstruction: A Country Bus Stop in August

Midday in August, a bus stop on a rural highway. There is a single bench with an old acrylic roof, and on the utility pole beside the bench a banner for a village event is tied. Across the road stands a row of three or four vinyl greenhouses, and behind the stop a cornfield stretches out. On the faded timetable, only the afternoon slots are barely legible.
